The Most Popular Question In The Last Few Months: Is Turkey On The Red List?

The world has been going through one of the most difficult period for people. We have been waiting for the vaccine for more than a year. Even though it is getting better every day still people are not free as before! Especially restrictions about travel really bother people since people need to have holiday and relax after the though year. When we talk about Brits one of the most important destination is Turkey for both holidays and medical tourism.

After the month of May of this year, Turkey has been stuck on the United Kingdom’s red list for travelling. At that time the infection rates were higher. However, the vaccination number is getting higher and cases are much lower now. Yet, they still are on the list called the red list.

Another favourite, the UAE was moved to the amber list in August, but Turkey got ignored again. However, the Russians and the Americans are enjoying Turkey whereas the people in the UK are waiting for Turkey to go to the amber list.

More than 40k people have signed a petition for Turkey to go to the amber list. Once the number is 100k, it will be heard by the parliament. The Turkish embassy staff are also not very happy about it. But they expect to be off the red list on the next review.Traffic Light system will be renewed on 15th of September and experts expects Turkey to be removed from red list according to scientific datas regarding vaccination and positive cases.

The theory of why Turkey is still on the red list is that, there are variants and it is spreading all around the country. Paul Charles, founder of the PC Agency travel consultancy, said: “Turkey very much deserves to be on the amber list as it has some of the best Covid safety policies in place, especially in hotels and other tourist areas and has worked hard to reduce its infection rates.”

Many British holidaymakers and cosmetic surgert patients are waiting the upcoming restriction update on 15th of September.
