Turkey Introduces New Regulations for Health Tourism

Turkish Health Ministry has come up with new regulations for health tourism to set the minimum service standards, give authority to the facilities and intermediary firms that will offer health tourism services and to audit their activities. The new rules also cover pricing.
To be engaged in international health tourism; it is now obligatory for health tourism agencies to have an International Health Tourism Authorization Certificate by 13 July 2018, as the new regulations say.

In order to obtain International Health Tourism Authorization Certificate; facilities and intermediary firms must receive a minimum score of 85 from “The Assessment of Quality Standards in Health.”

Intermediary firms are obliged to certify that they have signed protocols at least with three health facilities. It is also mandatory to have an infrastructure capable of answering calls 24/7 at least in 2 languages.
