The nose is the first organ that people see on someone’s face. Whatever the size and shape it is, it can affect our lifestyle. When we are young we tend to have a nose that is called a button nose, it usually is found cute. However, as we age, our nose starts to change. Because every human is unique, naturally no one has the exact same nose. However, these days, thanks to the technological advancements in plastic surgery, surgeons can reshape the nose nearly in any way possible, even something very close to a button nose.
The following are some of the most typical shapes of noses.
Fleshy Nose
Is the most regular nose shape. Generally, fleshy noses are recognized by their large, projected shape. As long as they have more of a fatty look than a bony one, they can also be small.
Turned Up Nose
Also known as the celestial nose, is precisely what you’d envisioned it to be: a moderately small nose with a dip at the middle of the bridge and a tip that sticks out.
Roman Nose
This nose is called so because it looks like the noses found on the faces of many old Roman sculptures. The Roman nose is notable for its arch that prominently stands out from the face. This nose type has an overemphasized bridge that usually has a small bend or curve.
Bumpy Nose
A very common nose shape. This nose is known for its bumpy profile, with either a small or notable slope in the dip. People with a bumpy nose, not always, but are usually the most common patients for rhinoplasty(nose job), as it’s fairly simple for plastic surgeons to even the bumps when compared to other procedures, like narrowing or broadening the nose.
Snub Nose
Also known as “The Mirren”, because it is similar to the nose of actress Helen Mirren, the snub nose is distinguishable by its characteristic thin and pointed look. People who have a snub nose will also be aware that it has a smaller, slightly rounder form with a precise upward curve at the tip.
Hawk Nose
Is known to have a very noticeable curved shape and bridge. This nose type is called the hawk nose because it bears a resemblance to the bent beak of an eagle and other carnivorous birds. The hawk nose is also called the beak or aquiline nose (aquiline means “eagle-like”), and is a remarkable detail for face shapes with strong silhouettes.
Greek Nose
Occasionally called the straight nose. This nose shape usually is sought after by people who have crooked noses. A Greek nose usually has a very straight bridge, meaning it doesn’t have any humps or curves, and is called the Greek nose because of the very straight noses on the very old sculptures of the Greek gods.
Nubian Nose
Also known as the wide nose, this nose shape is mostly found in people that have African descent. People who aren’t happy to have this type of nose, tend to want their nose to be a bit narrowed down by a plastic surgeon.
East Asian Nose
This nose shape is noticeable for its slender, flat shape and usually has a shorter tip.
Nixon Nose
A rare nose shape. It is named because it bears a resemblance to the 37th President of The United States. This noticeable nose shape is known for its unbending bridge that has curves at the end with a broader tip.
Bulbous Nose
This is also a rare nose shape. It is delineated by its rounded, arch tip, which usually stands in an outward position to form a bulbous, circular line at the lowest part of the nose.
Combo Nose
This nose, as the name states, is a combination of a few nose types and has a unique profile.
