Although post-operative instructions for each patient might be different, you can find some of the most important do’s and don’ts after your hair transplant below;
- After your surgery you need to go and rest and move at the minimum level that would affect your new hairs until the next morning.
- You should not wear hat, bandana or something to cover your hair after you go your country back without getting permission from your doctor. Because it could damage your new transplanted hairs.
- You should be out of hard sports for 1 week after your procedure.
- Swelling might occur just after the procedure for 2-4 days on your forehead but it will disappear after max 4 days.
- In order to decrease the swelling, you can sleep with your head placed 45 degree for 1 to 3 nights after the procedure.
- You should not take aspirin or alcohol for 3-4 days after your procedure as well, since they are attenuate and might increase bleeding if you have.
- You might have pain for 1-2 night after the procedure so, you can take some medicine for it that your doctor will give you.
- You can start washing your hair gently 2 days after the procedure. Try not to let the water beat directly onto the recipient area where the grafts are for the first 4-5 days after surgery.
TIME-LINE FOR HEALING PROCESS
- First 7-10 days after the procedure: You will be taking your medicines for healing wounds and crusts will fall off. If any swelling will happen it will disappear too. You can go back to your daily work life unless your job requires huge effort for the first week.
- After 3 Months: You will be seeing your new hairs growing.
- After 9 Months: You will be seeing complete results for your new hairs which will be noticeable by anyone.
